Installers and suppliers on our network work in all nine provinces. Choose your province or city to read about local building conditions and request a quote.

Gauteng

Gauteng sits high on the Highveld, where violent summer thunderstorms bring hail, driving rain and lightning, and dry winters bring frost and big day-night temperature swings. Aluminium doors here need sound drainage in their sills, good weather seals and safety glass that copes with storm debris. Housing ranges from older face-brick homes in established suburbs to townhouse complexes and large security estates with their own architectural guidelines. Security is a constant concern, so sliding and stacking doors are often paired with burglar bars or trellis gates. Steady renovation work, new developments and busy retail, office and industrial parks keep fabricators and installers working across the province.

Western Cape

The Western Cape's winter rainfall arrives with cold fronts that drive rain sideways against west- and north-facing walls, so door sills, weather seals and drainage are tested hard between May and August. Along the coast, salt air and the strong summer south-easter call for marine-grade powder coating or anodising, stainless fittings and frames designed for higher wind loads. Architecture is varied: Cape Dutch and Victorian homes, modern glass-fronted houses on the slopes, coastal holiday homes, wine-farm buildings and dense city apartments. Energy rules under SANS 10400-XA push many owners towards better glazing, and renovation is constant in both cities and holiday towns.

KwaZulu-Natal

KwaZulu-Natal's coastline is hot and humid for most of the year, and that combination of moisture and salt spray is hard on door frames, rollers and locks, so coastal installers favour marine-grade finishes and stainless hardware. Summer brings heavy downpours, which makes raised sills and effective drainage important on any door facing the weather. The north and south coasts are lined with holiday apartments, lifestyle estates and resort developments, while the Midlands and inland towns have farmhouses, older homes and growing suburbs. Wide stacking and sliding doors that open living areas to the breeze are popular, and security gates often go in alongside them.

Eastern Cape

The Eastern Cape combines exposed, windy coastal cities with a cold, dry interior. In Nelson Mandela Bay and East London, persistent wind and sea air mean doors need firm frame anchorage, good seals and corrosion-resistant finishes. Inland towns in the Karoo and around Komani see frosty winter nights and hot summers, so thermal performance and solid weather-stripping matter. The housing mix includes older brick suburbs, coastal holiday homes, farmsteads and game-lodge buildings, plus industrial and commercial premises around the metros. Renovations of older homes, holiday developments along the coast and farm building projects all create steady demand for well-fitted aluminium doors.

Free State

The Free State is open, high-lying country where winters are cold with regular frost and summers bring thunderstorms and hail across the plains. Doors here have to handle large temperature swings and wind-driven rain on exposed farmsteads, so solid seals, well-drained sills and sturdy frames matter. Much of the demand comes from farmhouses and outbuildings, older brick homes in country towns and family suburbs in Bloemfontein and Welkom. Farm security is a real concern, which makes lockable doors combined with security gates a common request. Shops, guest houses along the main routes and institutional buildings in the larger towns round out the work.

Limpopo

Limpopo is hot for much of the year, with fierce summer heat and afternoon storms in the Lowveld and milder conditions on the escarpment around Tzaneen and Haenertsburg. Large glazed doors facing the sun can turn living rooms into ovens, so tinted or performance safety glass and good shading are worth discussing with a supplier. The province has growing suburbs in Polokwane, farmhouses on citrus and subtropical fruit farms, mining-town housing and many bush lodges and game-farm buildings. Lodges favour wide sliding and stacking doors that open onto decks, while homeowners and farms ask for robust locking and security gates to match.

Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga covers two climates. The Highveld towns around eMalahleni, Middelburg, Secunda and Ermelo have cold, frosty winters, strong summer storms and hail, and a lot of mining and industrial activity alongside family suburbs. The Lowveld around Mbombela, White River and Hazyview is warm and humid, with lush gardens, lifestyle estates and guest houses. Mist and heavy rain on the escarpment test weather seals, while hot Lowveld summers make glass choice and ventilation important. Lodges near the Kruger and along the Panorama Route invest in large sliding doors, and security-minded homeowners frequently combine them with trellis or expandable gates.

North West

North West has hot summers with thunderstorms and occasional hail, and cold, dry winters with frost, so door seals and finishes face both heat and temperature swings. Dust from farm roads and mining areas also gets into tracks and rollers, which makes easy-to-clean sliding systems and regular servicing worthwhile. The province mixes mining towns around Rustenburg and Brits, university and farming towns such as Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp, and leisure properties around Hartbeespoort Dam and the Magaliesberg. Lakeside homes and weekend houses favour wide glass doors with views, while farms and mining-town homes put a premium on strong locks and security gates.

Northern Cape

The Northern Cape is dry and extreme: summers in the Kalahari and around Upington are among the hottest in the country, winter nights can be freezing, and wind carries fine dust and sand. Doors here need tight seals and tracks that cope with grit, and glass choices that limit heat gain on sun-facing walls. Kimberley has older brick homes and a long building history, while mining towns near Kathu and Postmasburg have newer housing and industrial premises. Farmhouses along the Orange River and in the Karoo, coastal homes on the West Coast and guest houses serving flower-season visitors also call for durable, well-sealed aluminium doors.
